Class Descriptions

Lego Intermediate STEM

Electrons

In this Hands-on program from Science Cosmos, 3rd to 5th Grade Students learn age appropriate concepts of force, speed, predicting and measuring, They do this by building models with LEGO  bricks. These are Fun to build, and challenging; but at the same time they learn STEM concepts.  Students work in pairs, and together they learn measurement of distance, time, weight; counting, calculating, and problem-solving. They even learn to observe and analyze and enter their testing data on worksheets or a computerized learning system. This is a popular class where students actively build and learn while having Fun!

Lego WeDo STEM

In this Hands-on program from Science Cosmos, K to 2nd grade Students learn concepts related to robotics and programming. Working as budding robotic engineers, students use the WeDo Lego Robotics platform and build lego models based on many themes that they can relate to. Projects include: dancing birds, airplanes, and soccer goal keepers. Students work in Pairs and build Lego robot models. Models feature working motors and sensors and can be programmed using a graphic drag and drop software interface. Subsequent modification the model’s behavior can be achieved by changing the construction of the model or the software program. This is a popular class that is enjoyable for budding robot engineers.
