In this Hands-on program from Science Cosmos, 3rd to 5th Grade Students learn age appropriate concepts of force, speed, predicting and measuring, They do this by building models with LEGO bricks. These are Fun to build, and challenging; but at the same time they learn STEM concepts. Students work in pairs, and together they learn measurement of distance, time, weight; counting, calculating, and problem-solving. They even learn to observe and analyze and enter their testing data on worksheets or a computerized learning system. This is a popular class where students actively build and learn while having Fun!
Lego WeDo STEM
In this Hands-on program from Science Cosmos, K to 2nd grade Students learn concepts related to robotics and programming. Working as budding robotic engineers, students use the WeDo Lego Robotics platform and build lego models based on many themes that they can relate to. Projects include: dancing birds, airplanes, and soccer goal keepers. Students work in Pairs and build Lego robot models. Models feature working motors and sensors and can be programmed using a graphic drag and drop software interface. Subsequent modification the model’s behavior can be achieved by changing the construction of the model or the software program. This is a popular class that is enjoyable for budding robot engineers.

The Science Cosmos-Loudon branch offers STEAM enrichment programs in the South Riding, Aldie, Broadlands, Brambleton, Leesburg, Winchester areas. Our STEAM Educators love to teach.
We are thrilled to be able to bring our program to Liberty elementary School. Please enroll below.
In this Hands-on program from Science Cosmos, Kindergarten Students learn age appropriate concepts of force, speed, predicting and measuring, They do this by building models with LEGO Duplo bricks. Fun models like a pinwheel, Car, Goal Kicker, etc. Working in pairs, together they learn measurement of distance, time, weight; counting, calculating, and problem-solving. This is a popular class where students actively build, explore and learn while having Fun!
Lego Science Smart (Level 2)
In this Hands-on program from Science Cosmos, 1st Grade Students learn age appropriate concepts related to simple and compound machines. They do this by building models with LEGO elements. They learn about gears, wheels and axles, levers, and pulleys. Students engage in investigating and understanding the operation of simple and compound machines found in everyday life, Working in pairs. This is a popular class where students actively build, explore and learn while having Fun!
Each week we have the flexibility to offer different camp lesson titles for each of the Camp Themes. Our goal to keep the student engaged and stimulated, while he/she also learns something new. We ensure that the lessons are not repeated for students attending multiple camp weeks. Note that some camp lesson titles may not be offered in some locations. You have the option to choose a CAMP THEME for your child

Our 11 yr daughter thoroughly enjoys programming and trouble shooting robots at Science Cosmos
Outstanding effort from Science Cosmos, in making sure that kids grasp all Physics & Engineering concepts while having fun building/programming robots. Their course work is based on STEM education. >> MORE PARENT TESTIMONIALS Our daughter ( 11 yr old) thoroughly enjoys programming and trouble shooting robots using various sensors to do different functions. We highly recommend Science Cosmos for all ages kids with curiosity to learn and build robots and with a general aptitude towards ad science and technology.
Let your child Experience a FREE trial class the Ashburn, VA Science Cosmos Center, and enjoy a fun hour of learning. See First hand how much fun the clases can be to your child. Pick any open spot on the calendar.
We are thrilled they are spending time on intellectual activities
We had both our kids enrolled at Science Cosmos. Our kids love the experience and we are thrilled they are spending time on intellectual activities. I would highly recommend Science Cosmos.
The classes are self paced and gives kids an opportunity to learn at their own pace. We encourage students who are fast performers and also students who take time to think things through. The recommended duration is 6 or 12 months. Students can enroll anytime during the year, since they experience the courses at their own pace. Students start on an age-appropriate course in either the Protons, Netrons or Electrons categories.
Every month at our center, we feature one of our special kids as Science Mind of the Month. These students have demonstrated persistence and focus and have accomplished more than our expectations. All of them have participated in our programs for several months. Give them a Thumbs up and check out their photo albums by following the links.
Whats a better way to learn STEM concepts, than building robots and cool engineering structures. Its Learn+Fun in these self paced classes at our Howard Co. locations
After School Program
Want Less driving and more quality time? Here Kids are engaged and kept busy with activities. We not only help get homework done, but also offer structured enrichment all week

Welcome to wonderful world of robots! Students immerse themselves in STEM learning, while they build Robots using Lego and learn programming on a graphic user interface. Progressive courses teach students a wide range of skills and STEM concepts.
Grade 1 to Grade 6
Electronics
Electronics can be a complex topic to teach, but not so at Science Cosmos. Students learn the fundamentals using an easy to understand system with snap-circuits and then progress gradually to higher levels, to learn more advanced concepts using the ardurino platform.
Grade 2 to Grade 6
Minecraft STEAM & Game Design
Children love to play video games. Why not show them how to create their own games instead? Children learn STEAM Concepts with our Minecraft (Education) Course, where they learn creativity and problem solving in a fun way. Besides Minecraft we teach game design, using the Scratch and Kodu platforms
Grade 2 to Grade 6
Lego STEM
Whats a better way to learn STEM concepts, than building Lego Based structures and machines, that relate to everyday life. Our students enjoy this as much as the Lego Robotics Courses. They are free of the distraction from the computer, and are able to immerse themselves into building. Students comprehend concepts related to simple machines, engineering, while experiencing a sense of accomplishment with their creativity.
Grade Pre-K to Grade 6
Math Hands-On
Did you know that kids comprehend Math better if they can visualize better. We bring this idea to reality with our hands on Math programs. Students live in a 3D world, so isn’t it logical that they learn Math concepts by manipulating and building with 3D objects? We have math courses based on Lego, Knex and other manipulatives.
