Welcome to wonderful world of robots! Students immerse themselves in STEM learning, while they build Robots using Lego and learn programming on a graphic user interface. Progressive courses teach students a wide range of skills and STEM concepts.
Electronics can be a complex topic to teach, but not so at Science Cosmos. Students learn the fundamentals using an easy to understand system with snap-circuits and then progress gradually to higher levels, to learn more advanced concepts using the ardurino platform.
Children love to play video games. Why not show them how to create their own games instead? Children learn STEAM Concepts with our Minecraft (Education) Course, where they learn creativity and problem solving in a fun way. Besides Minecraft we teach game design, using the Scratch and Kodu platforms
Whats a better way to learn STEM concepts, than building Lego Based structures and machines, that relate to everyday life. Our students enjoy this as much as the Lego Robotics Courses. They are free of the distraction from the computer, and are able to immerse themselves into building. Students comprehend concepts related to simple machines, engineering, while experiencing a sense of accomplishment with their creativity.
Did you know that kids comprehend Math better if they can visualize better. We bring this idea to reality with our hands on Math programs. Students live in a 3D world, so isn't it logical that they learn Math concepts by manipulating and building with 3D objects? We have math courses based on Lego, Knex and other manipulatives.
The Science Cosmos Chantilly branch offers STEAM enrichment programs covering the areas of Chantilly, Herndon, Fairfax, Oak Hill, Centreville. Our STEAM Educators love to teach.

In this Hands-on program from Science Cosmos, Kindergarten and Pre K Students learn age appropriate concepts of force, speed, predicting and measuring, They do this by building models with LEGO Duplo bricks. Fun models like a pinwheel, Car, Goal Kicker, etc. Working in pairs, together they learn measurement of distance, time, weight; counting, calculating, and problem-solving. They even learn to observe and analyze and enter their testing data on worksheets. This is a popular class where students actively build, explore and learn while having Fun! (Ages 4 and 5)
In this Hands-on program from Science Cosmos, 1st Grade Students learn concepts related to robotics and programming. Working as budding robotic engineers students use the WeDo Lego Robotics platform and build lego models bases on many themes that they can relate to, such as dancing birds, flying, soccer. Students work in Pairs and build Lego Robot models featuring working motors and sensors and they program their models using a graphic drag and drop software interface. Subsequently they modify the model’s behavior by changing the construction of the model or the software program. This is a popular class that is enjoyable for a budding robot engineer. (Ages 5 and 6)
The Minecraft STEAM Learning course retains the magic of the Minecraft video game, while adding elements to it that facilitate learning concepts in S.T.E.A.M (Science Technology Engineering Arts Math). It is a powerful bridge between physical and virtual classrooms, fostering critical 21st century skills. Student learn age appropriate Lessons in a way they immensely enjoy, aligned with curriculum standards.
Unlike traditional Minecraft the STEAM learning course offers a controlled or coated environment rather than an open-ended Minecraft world. Being in the Minecraft world makes it irresistible and Kids explore and learn by observation and problem solving.

Learning science and engineering with Legos is fun indeed! This course enables students to work as young scientists and engineers, helping them to investigate and understand the operation of simple machines found in everyday life. They build models with Legos and other materials while learning concepts in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM).The program provides an enjoyable yet challenging environment in which students can develop skills such as creative problem-solving, communication of ideas, and teamwork. They learn while at the same time having Fun! Students experience the mechanical and structural principles normally hidden away inside everyday machines and structures and understand how to apply these principles.(Ages 8-10)
This enables students to work as young robotic engineers. Students Build, Program and Test Robots built using the LEGO Mindstorms platform. They learn how to build robots incorporating various Sensors and Motors. In this course they learn how to Navigate the software Graphic robot Programing interface. Students learn how to use the Sound Sensor, Light Sensor, and Ultrasonic Sensors. Why robotics? Because it’s exciting for students and is the premier vehicle for hands-on delivery of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts to students. Our robotics program provides an enjoyable yet challenging classroom environment in which students can develop important 21st-century skills such as creative problem-solving, communication of ideas, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork. They learn while at the same time having Fun!

My 10 year old son is very fond of Legos. He loves to puts things together. Science Cosmos is the best place for kids to experiment with legos and get a wonderful opportunity to learn robotics programming which helps their thinking abilities.
The center is very well staffed and kids get individual attention in their building effort. Each age group kids have age appropriate and brain stimulating activities. The beauty of the program is that kids don't even realize they are learning something. The learn while playing and without being burdened. It's a place to learn while relaxing. I truly love this center.
STEM learning and enrichment during the school year. The classes are self paced and gives kids an opportunity to learn at their own pace. We encourage students who are fast performers and also students who take time to think things through. The recommended duration is 6 or 12 months. Students can enroll anytime during the year, since they experience the courses at their own pace. Students start on an age-appropriate course in either the Protons, Neutrons or Electrons categories. My child was at the summer camp at Science Cosmos. This is a great resource for boys and girls who love to create things with Lego, K-nex, Robotics, etc. Those are the activities that promote math skills. Learning how each piece fits together and seeing what they can make is a valuable challenge to the mind. >> MORE PARENT TESTIMONIALS
We had both our kids enrolled at Science Cosmos. Our kids love the experience and we are thrilled they are spending time on intellectual activities. I would highly recommend Science Cosmos.
